Anne Blake-CogginsAnne Blake-Coggins is the Liberal Democrat Wealden District Council candidate for Hailsham South.

Anne is a retired health care professional who has lived in Hailsham over 35 years. She raised her family in Hailsham, and still has a daughter and grandchildren living in the town, so is very aware of the current problems faced by young families.

She has previously started and run two successful Beaver Scouts Colonies in the area and is currently a trustee of a women's charity supporting women in the workplace.

The prime concerns she has are: adequate facilities and services available to the elderly; ensuring a high quality of accessible education at all levels; and preventing further inappropriate development of the town.

"Hailsham is a market town, always has been," says Anne. "But the changes which are desired by some could put its unique reputation at risk."

Anne has previously served as a Hailsham Town Councillor and is committed to finding solutions to pressing problems in the town, and to properly representing the needs of the community. She feels that now is the opportune time to stand as a District Council Candidate to enable her to implement her skills and knowledge in serving the people of Hailsham South.
