The Wealden Liberal Democrats Executive Committee is made up of active Liberal Democrat members who live within the Wealden parliamentary district. Several members are also serving as current District, Town and/or Parish Councillors.
The current Wealden Liberal Democrats Executive Committee members are as follows:
James Partridge (Chair)
Paul Sparks (Vice-Chair)
Tim Murray (Treasurer)
Dorothy Sparks (Secretary)
Katrina Best (Media Officer)
Carole Ridout (Membership Officer)
Scott Walters (Data Officer)
The Committee members (Officers and Ordinary Members) are elected annually, and the Exec then meets every few weeks throughout the year, with the venue alternating between the three main Wealden towns - Uckfield, Crowborough and Hailsham. Since March 2020, due to the COVID situation, the meetings have mostly been taking place virtually using Zoom video conferencing.
Within the Wealden Executive there are also several smaller working groups, such as Campaigns and Fundraising & Events.
Our last AGM was held on October 23, 2021 at 10am in Uckfield. We were fortunate to have as our special guest speaker the Liberal Democrat peer Baroness Kate Parminter (pictured with our chairman James Partridge) after which the meeting itself was held, including the nomination and election of the officers and ordinary executive members for the year 2022 (listed above).
