*Update Dec 7th - tickets have SOLD OUT but the event will be live-streamed from 7.30pm via the venue's facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/CrowboroughCommunityCentre/

Lib Dem parliamentary candidate Chris Bowers has said he is "really pleased" that Wealden voters will at last get a chance to hear all four Wealden candidates speaking at a live hustings debate on December 7th in Crowborough. The news comes after over a month of silence from the Tory candidate following Chris' open challenge to Nus Ghani to debate him at a live hustings before the December 12th General Election.

At the recent, well-attended Extinction Rebellion debate on the climate emergency in Forest Row, only Chris, Labour's Angie Smith and the Green Party's Georgia Taylor showed up - in the event poster (see pic) the incumbent Tory MP was rather aptly represented by a quizzical topiary stranded on a desert island.

"I challenged Nus Ghani to a full two-hour hustings at the start of the campaign," says Chris. "I'm really pleased she has agreed to this hustings, which may be only an hour and a half (7.30 to 9pm) but I still look forward to 90 minutes of respectful but robust debate."

The hustings has been organised by the Crowborough Community Association and will be held at the Crowborough Community Centre and the event will be chaired by BBC News political correspondent Helen Catt. Tickets are free but must be booked in advance here and are on sale from today, Sunday December 1st. They are selling really fast, so anyone interested in attending is encouraged to reserve their place (which are limited) ASAP!*
